A Public Trust for charitable purposes can be formed by executing a Trust Deed on a non-judicial stamp paper.  The instrument by which the trust is declared is called the ‘instrument of trust’ or more popularly as the ‘trust-deed’. A Trust deed is executed between the settlor and the trustees. A settlor is a person who creates the trust by giving monetary or a non-monetary asset for some charitable or religious purposes. Whereas the trustees are the people who manage the trust asset. The settler generally appoints the trustees who can effectively run and work according to the objects of the trust, and the objects and the terms and conditions are defined in the trust deed itself.
